Why do we have to sell our right back?
Does anyone understand this?
I thought we were in a goods financial position.
Does SW want to leave?
Can we not afford to pay him?
Do we need another training ground?
Please help me understand.

Chill Ian. Whitty is in danger of being the third choice RB and Hibs need to take the kind of money being offered by the unwashed. He's not worth what they are offering IMO, and we have plenty cover in that position now. If the player wants to move, and end up not even getting a game for the huns, such is life. We will be a much stronger team this season than last anyway. The training ground is already started and will benefit everyone connected to Hibs in years to come. Mon the Hibs

It's pretty simple really. Whittaker wants to earn top dollar like his mates JC thinks we have an adequate replacement We take the dosh, the Hibees move on...as we always have. Good player, but no point in having someone on the books that wants to be elsewhere. If we get 1.5 million or above, it's a good bit of business IMHO. Bring on the young guns. Feck the hertz. Barney

Thanks
That's what I was asking.
I didn't know that he wanted to leave.
I agree completely we'd be daft not to take the money if he wants to leave.
I was just stunned watching the Sellick Chicago game. Riordan caused havoc as soon as he came on and the tims just looked pedestrian apart from the Hibbies. Maybe if they feel they bring in enough Hibs players they can play like us.
I'm just getting sick of it.
I can't believe that Collins has been so inexperienced as to piss all these players off.
I lose players every year in the team I coach but usually it's the ones I have not spent the time on because I see their heart is not in it.

Your not alone in getting pissed off. As barney said lets move on... feck SW... McCann will do for me. The state of the art training facility is supposed to be up and running by October... We own it .... not like Hertz who rent from Heriot-Watt.

Ian i can understand where your coming from. But we need to take a step back here and look at the bigger picture. To us supporters it all has to be black and white and now now now.We are witnessing the dimemberment of our glorious cup winning team. But realistically, for me anyway, the loss of Brown and perhaps Sproule( in terms of impact not skill) are the ones that have given me a few worries. Lets be honest the others that have left before like Riordan, will continue to recieve nasty splinters up the old chorus and verse from all that sitting on a bench , or be away to the championship,Killen will be lucky to get a start and eventually WGS will tire of his appaling injury/discipline record. Katie Thompson is half the player with out Broony at his side .To echo usahibee i agree , get the cash and get SW to buggery, McCann will do for me. But if we look further up the road say 5 or 10 years, all this pennypinching and percieved biscuit tin mentality will be all worthwhile. We need to be finacially stable and secure with our own training ground for the years to come.( i remember the stories T Mowbray used to tell about training with the real Hibs kids on school pitches littered with dog nuts and guys screaming across on dirt bikes etc etc)We dont want to end up like our maroon pals down the road, bieng run without any passion or sense or fairness like some banana republic . This is all part of a plan, and for me, i will happily watch our club make great money of anybody but particulalry the bigot brothers, and specifically the huns, who are getting deeper and deeper into debt.teehee. TAKE THE POPPY AND RUN , let another fine product of our youth system sell his soul for the weedgie dollar. PS i cannae wait for the start of the season.

Thanks guys. I assume we are relying on RP for the long-term plan. That's the only thing that makes it acceptable but it would be nice if the plan were made public. We just get bits of short-term thinking from Collins and RP but it would be nice if we got what comes after it
e.g. Play attractive football to fill the ground. Stay profitable. Transfer revenue reduces debt to around nil Training ground produces results on the field domestically Attendances revenue increases as a result of success Sponsorship revenue increases as a result of success Wage ceiling rises to retain top players (eg Riordan) and attract others We make a decent showing in Europe Additional European revenue used to increase stadium capacity. Lack of debt means a transfer fund is estalished to bring in top players We begin to pay transfer fees for top players
7 years?
