apologies for lack of effort with posts-had truckloads of family over from scotland.i feel like i work for the vancouver tourist board!! anyway i just wanted to ask if anyone else out there agrees with me when i say im slightly nervous about how this season will pan out. I wasnae too impressed with the boys performance in the scumbos game, downright suicidal with maka's performance against the sheep, and from what i read/saw off the Queens park game, we could easily have lost our cup at the first attempt. I know we fans are fickle and expect instant bonding and understanding of our players, but it looks to my uneducated eyes that this is going to be a long long season with many ups and downs.just like every other f***ing season following the cabbage.
this is my first post for a while and apologies for the negative post. is there such a group as Hibbies Anonymous???

(is there such a group as Hibbies Anonymous???)
Oh yes especially in the Edinburgh area. These people normally do not come out their house after a derby defeat. They prefer to kick their dogs/cats, put their children to bed early because they look to happy, moan at their spouses, all in the privacy of their homes whilst drinking the cans of Tennants Lager they have bought in especially for such occasions. After a few beers they will phone their like minded friends to discuss who was pish and who should be given the Spanish Archer. Thankfully these people lately are outside most days breathing in the fresh air from Seafield ;D Although they are always ready when disaster strikes. Which brings me to your point Toiletrim ;D Being a Hibs supporter will always be a rollercoaster for us,its what we do with the negatives that sets us apart from the Glory Hunters. We still Believe. I just think we shouldn't stand for it. He have a 21 year-old inexperienced keeper in our first team and we're making excuses for him. Hearts bring in a 27 year-old keeper from Auxerre as their backup!
wtf are we doing?

JC is in charge... he will have to stand by his decisions. If it goes pear shaped then he`ll be got rid off. But gie the guy a chance... geez we are unbeaten albeit fortunate with what we have in goals. To be fair we should have MAX points, DU goalie kept us out. Calamity cost us 3pts... and we have won 2 IMO am sick of hearing about Mowbray`s team shat.... I will reserve judgment until after Christmas but at the moment i am fairly happy with whats going on ... not ecstatic ... just fairly happy As i type we just scored so getting happier ;D

Agree USA. If we win today we will be in second place in the league and still un beaten. Makes for good reading in my books. The new boys need a wee while to settle in. Two finals in March and May , for the Hibees next year.

It's very true that our game has been patchy to say the least and at times it's been dire but all is not doom and gloom. I honestly can't see us touching the ugly sisters but I can't see anyone else doing it either. 3rd place is there for the taking as I think everyone other than the OF is beatable. Of course a few points taken of the OF would go down very well, as would a Cup win or 2. If truth be telt I wish I was saying we could actually challenge the Weegies.

>3rd place is there for the taking as I think everyone other than the OF is beatable. I agree but we did not beat United or Aberdeen when we should have. That's why it's not a good start. >If truth be telt I wish I was saying we could actually challenge the Weegies. But we simply are not even in that galaxy at the moment. If we wanted to do that, we would have to pay more to retain the players. The current attitude within the club is not to challenge them. The only time we have challenged in the past 50 years was because Eddie Turnbull had no fear of the OF as a player and he had proven himself for Aberdeen as a manager. It needs a long term plan.

>It needs a long term plan.< Yep it does ....but how can you plan long term without the finances. Yes i know we made a few bob recently... no doubt its all spoken for given we spent nowt practically on signings. Also players playing for the jersey are long gone. The cash being thrown at youngsters these days makes them believe they are superstars...hence they always want more.... when in reality they are only half decent and told to get lost. With a few acceptations SB being 1... Ask yourself this... was there much debate at ER ... with the 2m for Katie... i`m sure RP & JC smiled about that. While we remain a selling club.... as it has been for all the years i have supported them...... then without proper backers to finance the `greedy bastards` the status quo will always be there. We the fans know it needs a long term plan but unless we get backer a la Chelsea things will not change. Just had a thought.... Does anyone know The Sultan of Brunei`s phone number

I was at the game Saturday, and we weren't good. But sat behind the dugout, and having a good view of JC, I must say he seemed to have the same reaction as a lot of the fans, but.... shouldn't the goalie know in advance of the game that you don't want him top roll the ball out to the fullbacks, but throw it to the the midfielders?? So, either Makalamby has forgotten his instructions (not good) or JC is making it up as he goes along (not good). But we are unbeaten in 6 games, and do have a home tie against Motherwell for a passage to the next round of 'our' cup. Not a bad thing. Falkirk aren't exactly setting the league on fire, so we could conceivably be 4-2-0 heading into the Celtic home game, and we can at least hope for a draw in that one. We've had worse starts to the season. Mind you, God help us if Fletch gets injured

>I was at the game Saturday,
Lucky bugger
I agree with JC's frustration with players not doing what their told to in a game but during a game, they tend to revert to what they think best. My keeper last year, because of what he had been taught in the past, punted it as far as he could when we were 1-0 up in the second half and pof course this led to the fbs and omfs not getting in the right position to receive the ball the next time when he did want to do it.
The trouble is that JC is inexperienced (previous moan of mine) in people management and we are having to experience his learning process - like FS.
